Podium Finish for the Blue Knights – 3rd Place with SMG High-Performance Polymer Ball Bearings
On February 28, 2026, the Formula 1 team “Blue Knights” competed in the STEM Racing Germany Regional Championship WEST – with great success. Competing against a strong field of 17 teams, the students achieved an outstanding 3rd place finish, securing their qualification for the German National Championship in May.
As a sponsor, we are especially proud that our SMG polymer ball bearings were used directly in the Blue Knights’ race car. Lightweight design, low friction, and high reliability are critical factors in racing – and exactly what our high-performance polymer bearing solutions are designed to deliver, both on the track and in demanding industrial applications.

A great success for our Schmeing team🎉
On 6 June 2025, we took part in the City Run in Borken for the first time. We are incredibly proud of our running team! Overall, we achieved an impressive fourth place out of 29 participating companies. Even the supporters on the sidelines were not deterred by the bad weather – everyone cheered us on enthusiastically.
Afterwards, we celebrated our great success a little. It was a wonderful evening full of team spirit and joy!
Healthy leadership – for yourself and others
At the end of March 2025, we held a workshop on healthy leadership for our management team in cooperation with Techniker Krankenkasse.
We are delighted with the excellent participation of all managers from various departments who took part in this informative and inspiring day. The seminar offered a wealth of ideas and practical tips on the topics of health, leadership and self-care.
We hope that the insights gained will help to further strengthen our corporate culture and promote the well-being of our employees.

SMG Plastics exhibited at productronica 2025 together with Groz-Beckert Customized Precision Components (CPC) . Our joint booth provided an excellent opportunity to present selected high-quality solutions from Groz-Beckert CPC, while also demonstrating how our polymer ball bearings and other precision components complement this portfolio perfectly.
We were particularly pleased with the engaging discussions with numerous visitors and the overwhelmingly positive feedback. These conversations clearly highlighted the strong interest in innovative solutions made from carbide, steel, ceramic, and polymers – precise, customized, and reliable.
